I am Michael Aylesworth, a retired engineer/entrepreneur and a High School Math and Science Teacher. I have a Master of Arts in Teaching degree which gives me a keen approach to instruction. I am a certified and teacher in Washington with endorsements in Physics, Mathematics, and Earth and Space Science. My Bachelor of Science in General Science and Associates in Science serve to highlight my broad base in Biology and Chemistry, and my primary focus of Mechanical Engineering culminated in an Engineer in Training Certificate by the State of Washington.
I have taught AP Physics, Astronomy, Biology, Materials Science, Intro to Engineering Design, and Personal Finance. Students I taught varied in their background from mostly highly capable students in AP Physics, which was a notable challenge, to a more comprehensive cross section of the student body in Astronomy. I am able to interact with students in a kind and nurturing manner while at the same time holding them to academic standards. I have a passion for teaching secondary math and science and that I have the skills to do it.
