Hello everyone! My name is Ms. Monique. I am a certified English/Language Arts teacher and I currently teach 7th grade English/Language Arts and I love it! My hobbies include reading, writing, going to the beach, and playing the piano and the violin. I am multilingual (English, French, and Spanish).

I am a college graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. My educational and professional experience has allowed me to work with various students, hence strategically planning around their needs. I've been a committed tutor for four years. My most recent opportunity involves tutoring for a S.T.E.M. Program (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) in one or more of these areas a few times a week. I also serve as a mentor to high school students and help them prepare college entry letters and begin resume building.

I value community service. As a product of a public school system, I believe that tutoring allows for the best opportunity for me to play an active role in inspiring and helping people of diverse backgrounds to achieve excellence. I truly love helping people and find it most rewarding when I see them succeed.

I have experience working with gifted, ESL/ESOL, and special education students. I am technology savvy and have experience teaching writing online where students ask questions and receive feedback via email throughout the writing process in a timely manner. Achieved proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Strong reading and writing skills to in turn teach effective test taking strategies, build reading comprehension skills , and use MLA/APA style for research papers.
