Barbara Garvin-Kester, Ed.D, is a certified teacher, coach, consultant, and organization leader who has extensive experience working with learners of all ages, from infants/toddles, preschoolers, K-12 students, college age youth, and adults bound for professional careers in industry, government, and non-profit environments. She specializes in helping individuals achieve their goals, develop a love of learning, and find success in school and in life. While serving as the Executive Director of Children’s Learning Centers of Fairfield County in Stamford, CT, Barbara established within the organization a Yale University Lab School for developing, testing, and researching a social-emotional skills curriculum that highly correlates to academic success. As President of the Core Knowledge Foundation, Barbara directed the development of curricula and teacher training programs for a nationwide network of over 1000 PreK-8 public, private, and charter schools. As Executive Director of the Federal Executive Institute, she shaped and directed a leadership development program for aspiring leaders of the Civil Service. A graduate of Northern Illinois University, Barbara has helped hundreds of people improve their confidence and realize their potential for leadership and life-long success.
