I began teaching biology at Cornell University in 2001, when I was still an undergraduate student. I completed my degree in biology in 2002 and continued on to graduate school where I completed a Master's degree in teaching in 2004. During that time I served as the lead instructor and teacher trainer for that same biology course. I moved to Virginia in 2004 where I began teaching high school. I have extensive experience teaching AP, IB, honors, and general biology as well as honors and general chemistry. I am comfortable tutoring science at any age level and in any discipline other than physics. I am also very adept at tutoring elementary and middle school math, algebra I, algebra II, geometry, and trigonometry. Last but not least, I am happy to assist with SAT and ACT test preparation, primarily for math and science.
In addition to my work with students in the classroom, I am also a very successful high school basketball coach, a father of 2 young boys, and a mildly obsessive golfer.
I look forward to working with you soon!
