It's difficult to get into a nursing program. As soon as clinicals begin, you're swamped with work and fearful of doing something harmful to a patient. A continual state of anxiety and exhaustion causes you to constantly read, study, and occasionally break down and lose your mind for a few minutes before regaining your composure and making flashcards for all the new terms you have to master. Is this familiar? That makes sense to me. I have been there.
I've been an RN professor at a community college for almost two decades. To prepare for exams and clinical practice, nursing students enjoy the use of interactive creative instructional tactics. I am presently working as a pediatric home health aide and tutoring at the same time. I appreciate working with my students to help them overcome the enormous hurdles that nursing education brings so that they may graduate and go on to practice as a nurse and serve their patients with the best possible care. When it comes to the NCLEX, I teach the NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN, as well as Health Assessment, Fundamentals, Med-Surg, Pediatrics and Pharmacology. You can only begin to recover the significant time and financial commitment a nursing education needs once you have graduated from your school and passed the NCLEX.
