I am a fully-certified elementary school teacher in Dallas. I have been educating elementary grade students for the past 18 years. My Second graders consistently scored above the state average in Reading because of my intensive reading strategies and intervention program. I really focus on Fluency, Phonics and Spelling patterns, to ensure that the students understand how to break down and sounding out the words. I also believe that the students should understand what they are reading, so we discuss story elements while reading the passages. I also target reading comprehension to ensure that the students understand and retain what he/she is reading. The reading strategy, "PLORE" has allowed my STAAR grade students to successfully pass the test with high marks. I am very excited about sharing the joy and love that I have in the classroom with your student. I look forward to working with them soon.
