As an SMU M.Ed graduate, I approach tutoring in the most engaging, individualized, and research-supported way possible. My experience with tutoring first began as an undergrad student hired by my university to tutor students in Algebra, Chemistry, and Biology. From there, I began working at a non-profit that provided refugee children with afterschool programming and tutoring services. I worked with students grades K-2 on their reading and math skills and helped get them catch up to grade level material. After completing my M.Ed and becoming a certified teacher, I was hired as a 2nd/3rd grade small group instructor and would pull students to provide extra support in reading, math, and STAAR preparation. I now work as a self-contained 2nd grade teacher and continue to tutor students privately. My experiences tutoring a variety of ages and subjects makes me very flexible and able to provide my students with whatever support they need!
