Hi! My name is Emma Gill and I really look forward to tutoring y'all! In terms of academics and future career plans...Following the completion of my degree, I plan to become a part of the Teach For America program for two years (hoping to teach elementary school Spanish just like my grandmother did); I have been a nanny since I was 16 years old and really enjoy watching kids learn new things about the world. After teaching for a couple years, my goal is to go to law school to become a constitutional lawyer; I am really passionate about civil rights, therefore I have always figured the best way to improve the social atmosphere in the United States is to go straight to the laws and change them! My favorite part about school has always been writing (in both Spanish and English) because I believe it is the most powerful way to communicate important ideas. I have had so many epiphanies while writing papers and I really value that. I am the type of student who gets really excited about research papers and diving into complex theories, rather than dreading all of that.
A little bit about my personality....I am a high-energy, yet organized and thoughtful individual. I am level-headed, rational, open-minded, and do not get overwhelmed in high pressure situations and take a logical approach to solving problems. I love information and knowledge; I can often be found researching topics that interest me or trying something several times to figure out the most efficient way for tasks to be accomplished. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my two dogs, listening to true crime podcasts, or organizing spaces in my home.
