I have over 20 years of healthcare experience ranging from in-patient hospital care, emergency room, home health, long-term care and ambulatory clinic nursing, and I have worked with populations of all ages.
Along with clinical nursing practice, I have taken part in nursing research at the University of TX and have taught medical terminology to pre-health science students at Austin Community College. I really enjoy working through body systems and helping students understand the amazing architecture of the human body.
I have two kids of my own and besides just being good kids, they have inspired my approach to teaching and tutoring by reminding me to seek out multiple approaches to learning. They have also helped me in my skill of being able to hone things down to the simplest level and to build in more complex concepts later on.
Along with my BSN I have graduate degrees in nursing education, and anthropology. My PhD focused on integrative health care and am personally very committed to holistic care and nutrition.
