Hello! My name is Daniel Tichota! Let me start off by saying first and foremost, I love to learn! Yes, I consider myself to be a nerd - and proud of it. I enjoy, reading, creative writing, Bible, math and American history. And if it were possible, I wish I could walk through my closet and live in the land of Narnia. A strange combination, right?
Just this year (2022) I became a Certified Learning Success Coach - specific to students with dyslexia. As one who battled dyslexia as a child, I have found a way to work through the discouraging problems it can play and overcome. This is a tactic I now show all students that I come in contact with.
My style of teaching is based on repetition, based on repetition, based on repetition...and humor. Trust me, I know way too many dad jokes. All kidding aside, I also work to bring in a style of kinesthetic learning and games that can allow the student to have a means of remembering their instruction while having fun in the process.
My background in teaching comes from years working in the children's and tween programs in Church, both teaching pre-written lessons as well as writing my own. I have authored 5 books already, and am working on the next in my spare time. I have a wife, 4 children, and two dogs. I have tutored my older children and have spent time homeschooling my youngers also. With other platforms I have both taught and tutored in Bible, Math, Oral Communication, History, and Reading/Writing skills.
Although I am an adult, I still enjoy reading the books I read as a child, especially the Chronicles of Narnia series. I long for the day when I will finally be able to walk through the wardrobe's entrance and enter the land of Narnia. Until then, I am doing my best to live well and help point others in the right direction.
Come, learn with me, and see how much fun we can have together.
