Hello! My name is Yakir, and I'm a rising junior in Temple University's Honors program, where I major in Computer Science, with minors in Mathematics and Data Science. I have five years of programming experience, and can code in Python, C, Java, C++, MATLAB, and x86 Assembly. I also have experience using every major operating system (Linux, Windows, UNIX, and OS X). During the school year, I research deep convolutional neural networks for image recognition under Temple's Dr. Longin Jan Latecki. Over the summer and part time during the school year, I work as a software engineer at SAP doing backend engineering in Java.
This year, I developed and co-taught an AP Computer Science A and Oracle Java SE 8 course for the Stepping Stones Scholars program, and co-taught the AP Computer Science Principles course at Philadelphia Military Academy. I have also been offering private tutoring in computer science fundamentals and mathematics to classmates and younger students for the last two years. Additionally, I have current FBI, Criminal, and Child Abuse clearances.
