I am a neuroscience student who recently graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. I have a strong biological science background and well knowledgeable in the field of neuroscience. I have four years of laboratory experiences and have executed my research projects. Moreover, I have spent the past three years volunteering with UPenn's Netter Center for Community Partnerships tutoring various science topics to underrepresented high school students in West Philadelphia.
As a recent college graduate, I believe interactive learning is the best approach to understanding new subjects. Although I acknowledge the importance of lecture style teaching/ learning, this isn't necessarily always the best approach. Different students will have different learning style, and it is challenging to tailor to a student's individual need when teaching in a lecturing manner. For example, I learn best when I can draw out and see the visuals of what I'm learning. Therefore, as a tutor, I value the benefits of working with students based on their learning style.
