I started out teaching Pre-K for 4 years. I later moved onto becoming the School Age Program Director as our program grew and we had to open our own School Age Center. With this position, I held various trainings, staff and student assessments, created and implemented curriculum. I have also ran the summer School Age Day Camp in which students were participating 5 days a week, one day they went on field trips within a 2 hour radius of the center, another day was spent swimming and participating in outdoor activities, the other 3 days were based at the center in which students participated in STEM, Reading, Physical Education, Music, Social skills, etc. I love finding what works best for children and going with it. I feel as if Howard Gardener’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences is exactly how children learn. No one learns the same and we have to figure what works best for our children. After all, they will be running our country someday.
In my free time I love to camp, ski, hike, play board games and be with my family. I have an 11 year old son and a baby girl on the way.
