I hold a B.S. degree in Secondary Education and English. My main areas of focus are adolescent psychology and English literature.
I have ten years of teaching experience in grades 3 through 9. In that time, I have focused on Spalding certification - which includes extensive training in phonics, fluency, and reading comprehension strategies - and applying those skills in the classroom. I am also a certified Thinking Maps and Write from the Beginning and Beyond trainer, and I have instructed both children and adults on improving their writing practices.
Despite being trained in math, science, and social studies (grades 1 through 8), I specialize in tutoring/offering support in all areas of English Language Arts.
