K-8 Spanish Teacher accepting students for the summer and fall: Please email me to see a course/session outline in detail......
My name is Keith Pearson and I am the creator of Spanish like a Native. I am also the K-8th Spanish Teacher here in Portland
I mentor, tutor and coach individuals and students that want to learn Spanish the right way. I work with students, not just during individual- hour-long sessions, but also between sessions as their mentor and guide whom they can rely on to help them through the labyrinth that stands in the way of Spanish fluency and being able to communicate effectively.
I communicate with my students often via email, skype, text, voice messages, WhatsApp, and phone calls to make sure they are always on the right path in their Spanish language journey, I share tools, websites, books, articles, podcasts, videos, and anything else I get my hands on that is of help. I always choose the appropriate material depending on each of my student's needs and current level.
I can meet in person or via skype, and normally I meet with the student once for introductions and the first session, and then we work via skype for subsequent sessions. Both my students and I find this to be the better method for working together. We can do sessions however often the student deems fit, but like I said, it's more of a communication of back and forth, with me being there for any and everything related to Spanish.
About me- I am somewhat new to Portland after living in Guayaquil, Ecuador between 2011-2016. I have my undergrad degree in Spanish, my Masters in Latin American Studies and have worked roughly 8 years teaching language, and 5 more as an International coordinator for a college, and then as a bar/restaurant owner. I have been "self-studying" while teaching, and have learned and figured out the type of issues that are most common for Spanish learners- especially those that speak a bit but can't make those needed breakthroughs. That's what I am here to help with.
