Hello! I am a Physics and AP Physics 1 teacher at a charter school in Deep Ellum. My background is in geophysics, which means that I am in strong in earth science, physics, algebra, differential calculus, and integral calculus. Before teaching, I worked as an electromagnetic geophysics researcher at Los Alamos National Laboratories and I worked with NASA on an undergraduate engineering team. When I was an undergraduate at UTD, I was associated with the Student Success Center as a differential and integral calculus Peer Lead Team Leader. As a PLTL Leader, I would lead groups of eight or fewer students through review sessions about the calculus their classes were covering that week. I have over five years of tutoring experience and two of professional teaching. I am here to help you build your confidence and find the solutions!
Before university, I was very unsure about my abilities in math. With time and practice, I learned that math and science were really fun! I hope that I can share my enthusiasm for math and science with my clients and help them to build their confidence in difficult subjects. In my free time, I like to go on walks with my dog, read graphic novels, paint with watercolors, and explore Dallas.
I have 5 years of experience as a math tutor. I was a differential and integral calculus PLTL Leader (which means I held group tutoring sessions) at the University of Texas at Dallas. My strongest subject at university was math. I love STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) because it allows for people to think through real-world problems like a puzzle. Solving problems can be a lot of fun. I excelled in my physics courses in University and applied physics to study the Earth at Los Alamos National Labs for a summer before becoming a physics teacher.
