I have a BS and an MBA from New York University; I am also a CFA and an adjunct college professor. I have over six years of experience helping middle school, high school, and college students succeed in both test preparation and academic subjects.
I teach many subjects; because I believe that mastery of a subject is one of the prerequisites to teach it effectively, I have mastered all of the subjects that I tutor, which includes: SAT (Reading, Writing, and Math), ACT (English, Math, Reading, and Science), and Math (Algebra I and II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-calculus, Calculus, Statistics) to high school students; Business Math, College Algebra, Calculus, Statistics, Economics, Accounting, Finance, GMAT, GRE, and CFA to college students.
I also believe that another prerequisite of successful tutoring relates to the teaching process. As each student is different, I tailor my teaching style appropriately to match a student's learning style preferences, strengths and weaknesses, and goals. I help my students succeed in their studies by teaching them proven techniques to improve their study skills and learning abilities. These techniques are applicable not only to the subjects being tutored but also to all other subjects being studied in school; not surprisingly, most of my students show improvement in overall GPA as well as greater self-confidence. I also teach my students strategies and techniques, and test-taking "smarts" to beat standardized tests; all of my students get higher scores on their tests.
