My teaching experience has taken me many places as my passion for Italian and all Foreign Language consistently provides me many unique and beautiful opportunities. I am a corporate career changer who started teaching 13 years ago in New York City. There I have taught all levels of Italian in the High School from level 1 to Honors Regents as well as Latin and Spanish. I have also lived in Italy where I taught English to children attending the IB - St. Louis School of Milan. Through differentiation, creativity and passion, I successfully taught a group of children ranging from 6 - 10 years of age the Italian Saturday morning program at the Westchester Italian Cultural Center in Tuckahoe, NY.
My love for the Italian culture, language and literature began at a very young age as I would spend my summers (and still to this day) in my family’s home in the Alps of the Trentino region while equally learning rich tradition from my mother’s side coming from Sicily and Calabria. In university I chose to study abroad in Florence Italy where I studied the language and culture more in depth at the Lorenzo de Medici Institute. I later returned to live in Florence and study more when deciding to change career paths and become an Italian teacher. Since then, I have married a wonderful man born and raised in Italy (Molise) which only proves to enrich our passion for our heritage, language and culture even more. We enjoy spending our vacation time in our homes in both parts of Italy that we come from.
