I received a bachelors in fine arts and certificate of art education from the School of Visual Arts in NYC. I also possess a Masters degree in education from the University of New England. I have over 18 years of experience both as an artist, art teacher, and tutor in humanities subjects. I am able to teach illustration, painting, clay, and sculpture, and am well acquainted with art history both in ancient, modern, and cultural arts and crafts. I have exposed students to watercolor, oil and chalk pastels, pencil, marker, clay and wood sculpture. my lesson plans connect with events in history as well as literature-non-fiction and fiction. I incorporate writing about art and reading to strengthen ela skills. I love tutoring because I can design a plan tailored to my students needs on an individual basis, with all attention on who is learning the material. I am patient and relate-able and take creative approaches to learning, especially for those that struggle with traditional strategies. I look forward to our artistic adventures!
