Hi! I am a visual artist / photographer and a teaching artist of 5 years.
I am also a fan of journalism and dense literature (and hiking, cars and swimming).
Subjects I am knowledgeable about include: world history, geography and religions, as well as the criminal justice system.
I would to love to work with anyone who would like guidance on a project, along with remedial tutoring.
My strong suits are reading comprehension and essay critiques. I love to edit and would gladly help you take your writing to the next level, especially if it is evidence based.
For five years I have taught in diverse environments (prisons, rehab facilities, public schools, private schools, programs for disabled folks). I am used to managing large classrooms but love to work one on one to foster someone’s growth— old or young!
I do not adhere to a single pedagogy but I believe that learning must be fun and must connect with a person’s identity in order to be of relevance to them! Drawing that connection is where I come in. Let me draw it with you :)
