I earned a bachelor of arts in East Asian studies from Occidental College, a liberal arts school with a strong foundation in writing and critical thinking. After graduating, I worked for the college's Office of Admission for two years. With this experience, I am eager to help students with the college application process and writing essays.
What I enjoy most about teaching and mentoring students is providing a space for empowerment, creativity, and confidence. I challenge my students to identify their strengths and unique qualities and use these to craft the best college application essays and other papers for school. As a general writing tutor and proofreader, I seek to establish a lasting understanding of what we've covered in our sessions. As for world history, I have a strong foundation in Chinese history and politics to offer my students.
