Dimitri Florakis has worked with children, youth, and students for the past 9 years in both academic and non-academic settings. In 2016, he joined the St. John of San Francisco Orthodox Academy team in San Francisco, California where he taught a variety of English and History courses. During the 2020-2021 academic year, he served as the Dean of Students and assisted students, staff, and the Administration with students' social and emotional needs. He is familiar with both online teaching and tutoring, and recently moved back to New York to be closer to his family. Mr. Florakis maintains a genuine connection with the Academy and works as a member of their Accreditation team part-time. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from Fordham University where he also completed an Orthodox Christian Studies minor. He enjoys traveling, Greek dancing, and, during his free-time, he likes going with the flow.
