My name is Stephen Ferrara and I am a 40 year old father of two young boys living in Campbell Hall, NY. I have been teaching in North Rockland Central School District for 19 years. For my first 17 years I was as a 5th grade teacher and during the past 2 years I have been a district STEM Specialist as well as an Enrichment Specialist for the gifted and talented students. If I (or my students) had to describe my teaching style, the words energetic and engaging would definitely apply. I love working with kids and helping them get over the barriers that hold them back in the classroom. I have worked with all types of learners and have knowledge in various approaches to teaching. For the past 5 years I have been the lead curriculum designer for the district's math curriculum. During this time I have been responsible for creating performance tasks, assessments and lesson plans.
On a personal level, I have been married for 8 years and have two young boys ages 5 and 3. On top of being a school teacher, I have also been coaching a top ranked Division II golf team for the past 13 years.
If you have any questions please feel free to reach out. I am available to work most days after 3:30pm.
