I have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Masters in Materials Science & Engineering from Penn State and NC State, respectively. I have tutored a variety of subjects from test prep (ACT/SAT/PSAT/ISEE/SSAT) and K-12 STEM subjects (predominantly mathematics; highest level Calculus I). My teaching style goes beyond learning about the subject matter. I also spend a lot of time with each student to figure out what study style works for them, how to study and also create a practice to prioritize organization.
I have taught K-12 math subjects for educational groups such as SCORE! Educational Centers, Sylvan Learning Centers, Summer Study Programs (two summers at Penn State University), Prep Tutors LLC (based in Washington, DC) and privately. Additionally, I spent one year during my tenure at Lockheed Martin managing corporate STEM education and strategic workforce initiatives, the same year as the inaugural USA Science & Engineering Festival.
After 10+ years in industry working various roles in the tech from business development, strategy and engineering design, I now own and operate a boutique consulting firm focused on sustainability and energy. Additionally, I am a certified run coach through the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA), registered yoga teacher (RYT-200) and culinary school graduate from the Western Reserve School of Cooking in Hudson, OH.
