Hi, my name is Samantha. I'm originally from NY, but have also lived in Geneva, Switzerland and Singapore. I understand what it is like to be in a foreign country, and how difficult it can be when you aren't comfortable with the language!
I have a CELTA certification (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages), which is provided by the Cambridge English Language Assessment, and have been teaching both private and small group classes since 2013. I love languages, and have a degree in French language and literature from Buffalo State College.
My students have won "Most Improved English" awards at school, and have gone from speaking very little English, to being able to communicate comfortably within a short amount of time. I can tailor lessons to your specific needs and abilities, and enjoy finding interesting, fun materials to assist you in your learning.
My lessons are very student centered, and I love incorporating news articles, passages from books and songs, as well as lots of conversation.
I am available to travel to your home or work to teach, and also can arrange a different location (coffee shop, park, etc.) if you prefer to learn outside of your home.
I am quite flexible with my time, and can try and work around your schedule as much as possible. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about me or my lessons. I hope to hear from you soon!
