I am Porus and I graduated with a Master of Architecture in 2018. I have received academic awards and scholarships of design excellence. I am a professionally trained architectural designer that has worked nationally and internationally for over 8 years. I have tutored a diverse array of design students (graphic, architecture, interior, industrial, landscape etc.). Managing expectations has always led to achieving goals; this has translated to my tutoring method. I first ask what my student’s expectations are in their learning journey. I then create a specific lesson plan catered to my student's expectations and target areas. I always reinforce ideas and questions by providing various examples and different applications. At the conclusion of each lesson, we review what we learned to reinforce meeting content expectations.
For the past 5 years, I have tutored design students in both a one-on-one and a 10-student setting. I use a one-on-one approach since each design is individual and personal. I tutor in groups when the content area is broad, like software (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, AutoCAD, Rhino 3D, Lumion, and Enscape), design theory, and design critiques. I am passionate about helping people realize their passions and gain new knowledge in specific content areas. I am a patient teacher and a strong supporter of trial and error, questioning, and discovery.
