I am an architect, and I’ve been able to apply my profession and what it has taught me to a variety of created fields. I design environments as well as create identities and brands for hospitality clients. I have produced large art shows all over the world, and creative directed magazines. I have taught design studio college students at Pratt and Tulane university, as well as structured curriculums at Avenues the World School for both middle school and high school students. Whether my role is teacher/studio lead/producer or creative director, I am used to leading teams of creative individuals from ideation to fruition of large, ambitious projects.
I am often the person who sees the big picture, but I know that the details are what make any subject worth exploring.
To teach, I use a creative approach based on a solid foundation of the study of history of art/architecture and graphic design. And I can do this in three languages! I am fluent in Spanish, French and English having travelled and lived in various continents. I both love literature and theory, and one of my favorite subjects is social justice. I love to explore different movements through a creative lens: through the art, magazines, posters and even built projects that proponents of social justice have left behind.
Whether you’d like to study architecture, Graphic design, fine arts, converse in Spanish or French, or whether you need help with reading comprehension, I am a patient and understanding teacher, taking a respectful and catered to each learner.
