Hi, I am both a writing tutor and a chess instructor. These two subjects have more in common then you might initially think -please feel free to message me, I'd love to discuss why! While I have experience as a performer, performing both my own work in others, am a published writer, was the artistic director for a 20,000sft performance venue for 2 1/2 years, and was a scholastic chess champion, what I really love and have always done is teaching. I've taught in private schools, public schools, libraries, senior centers, and privately since I was 13 -again, feel free to message me for the funny story there! I know that beyond relaying the subject matter to my students is learning the process of how they learn and discovering together why the subject is relevant to their own lives. I also have a passion for (and years of experience) teaching special needs students. My own teachers were (and have continued to be) indispensable to me, and I try to carry that gratitude I have for them forward with me in my own teaching everyday. I am a NYC native; I love music, comedy, stories, animals, and spending time outside. I teach writing, acting, chess, and the occasional music lesson!
