Hello! Thanks for stopping by my profile.
I am a tutor with 4+ years experience in the NYC metro area, and have also tutored students over Skype. I have worked with all sorts of students and personality types and I believe that practice is the way to make perfect, especially when it comes to standardized tests. There's a methodology to how these tests are made and you can learn how to crack the code every time.
I tutor for the SAT, ACT, PSAT, PreACT, SSAT, and ISEE. I also can tutor Subject Tests in Literature, US History, World History, and Math II, as well as AP US History. I have over 2000 hours of tutoring experience.
WHAT TYPES OF STUDENTS I WORK WITH:
I have experience with international students who are looking to pursue secondary education in the US, high achieving students looking to get ever closer to that perfect 1600 or 36, and also students who require test accomodations and face a unique set of challenges in their studying process. I believe every student has the ability to do their very best with practice.
WHO AM I AS A TUTOR?
I'm a warm and engaging tutor. I pride myself on being empathetic and communicative. My favorite moment in a session is when I see the metaphoric lightbulb go on and a break-through is made. It is exhilarating.
A BIT MORE ABOUT ME OUTSIDE OF TUTORING:
I grew up in Upstate NY, and went to Northwestern University for undergrad, where I hold a B.A. in Theatre, with double minors in History and Dance, and a Musical Theatre Certificate. When I'm not tutoring, I'm pursuing my passions in the world of musical theatre. I currently reside in Brooklyn. My favorite type of dog is a Bernese Mountain Dog. :)
