My work background and coursework have supplied me with many essential skills, and understanding of dealing with students with a diverse background. While I was working toward my bachelor degree at Medgar Evers College, I worked as a Teacher Assistant lecturing Algebra 1, for a certain period of time for the mathematics department. I also worked as a tutor for the Department of Special Programs/Seek at Medgar Evers College. Upon completion of my bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and in 2015, I became a supplemental instructor for the Accelerated Study in Associated Program (ASAP) at Kingsborough Community College. I am confident that this combination will make me an asset to help motivate students and engage them by treating teaching and learning as a collaborative process and by showing my students that their thoughts and opinions are value.
