Hi! I'm qualified to tutor and/or proofread in any of the following subject areas: writing, reading comprehension, English literature, English as a second/foreign language, and U.S. and global history. Here's why: I have a bachelor's degree in history from the College of William and Mary. I spent my first year after graduation teaching English as a foreign language, as well as U.S. and world history, to middle and high school-aged students in Busan, South Korea. I have written for two major publications in full-time, salaried capacities--Bisnow, a Buzzfeed-style news website specializing in commercial real estate, and The Blade, a newspaper founded in 1835 in Toledo, Ohio, where I wrote about local, state, and national politics for the editorial board. I have recently completed a 150-hour-long Teaching English as a Foreign Language certification course from the University of Toronto. Lastly, I am avidly interested and widely read in English literature--though, alas, there are no official documents to corroborate this claim. Whatever your or your student's level of English proficiency and whatever the area of language skill improvement, I can offer energetic instruction! Likewise, if your student knows no obligation in life more onerous than 5th period history class with boring old Mr. Ryerson, I will do my best to get her to see why the subject is, in fact, extremely cool. Or at the very least, why Mr. Ryerson gave her C’s on her last three papers.
