Howdy! I have three years of experience working in the high school setting. I currently work in the special education department, providing in-class support to various groups of resource center and general education students. During the school year, I typically have English, Freshman Seminar, Personal Finance, and Study Skills classes. My subject area specialty is English, and I will be finished with my B.A. in English in October. I also have a certificate of instruction in social and emotional learning from Rutgers University and The College of Saint Elizabeth. For me, social and emotional learning is the foundation of education, and I strive to incorporate it into my work on a daily basis. I love getting to know my students and learning about their interests. I find that making positive connections lays the groundwork for successful learning, enhances student motivation, and boosts academic achievement.
