Teaching high school is my second career. After working in industry for almost 20 years, I decided to change careers and help young people get as excited as I am over science. I have been teaching for 13 years now. I almost have enough additional education credits for a second Masters degree!
My teaching experience includes working with students that have IEPs and learning disabilities all the way through to AP biology students. I love Biology and have taught that class ever year since starting teaching. I have also taught Comparative Anatomy, Geophysical Science (general chemistry/physics), Earth and Space Science, and Human Anatomy/Physiology. All high school level.
I am a firm believer in teaching students to the way they learn. I try to include oral, visual, and hands-on exercises so that the student can learn in the way they best understand.
So if your son or daughter is struggling, I can help. I do not require set tutoring dates (not every Monday at 7PM for example). I can come right before tests or exams only. I am flexible.
