About Rachel

Besides my Masters degree from Walden University, I have 24 years of nursing experience in many areas. I have worked in med-surg., critical care, and behavioral health. Although I am not a certified teacher, I have much experience training new nurses on the job. Currently, I work part-time for Rutgers University, teaching BSN students in mental health nursing. I enjoy helping new nurses begin their careers and I take pride in their achievements. I remember how scary being a new nurse was and difficult. Since I recently obtained my MSN, I know, first hand, how stressful it can be to go to school, study, work, and have time for family. I aim to relieve some of that stress and offer my knowledge and experience to lessen the anxiety. I believe learning is different for different people. I enjoy forming a professional relationship with my students to see what teaching technique will work best for them. I try to focus on the students’ needs and help them in a positive manner.
