I am a college student, studying elementary education. I have always had a passion for helping people learn, but more importantly, I have had an interest in figuring out how individuals learn. I think the most important part of being a teacher/tutor is understanding that every student learns differently and it is our job to figure out how that is and adjust to that for the best results. I consider myself to be very adjustable to new teaching techniques, and learning what works best for students. I am currently a substitute teacher, with students ranging from pre-K up to the 12th grade. I am also continuously student teaching for my classes at university. I have had all different types of learners and I find it so interesting how students vary so much. Being a classroom teacher is a lot different than being a tutor because as a teacher you are working with a larger group and have to work to accommodate everyone of your students, but tutoring gives you that one on one learning which I think is very important for most students. I believe that every students deserves an equal opportunity to succeed in school, and if a tutor is what will help a student learn, it would be an honor to hold that title.
