Teaching is my passion. I am dedicated to ensuring the satisfaction and confidence students feel when real learning occurs.
My extensive experience includes successfully teaching students (any age) with dyslexia and other learning differences (using Orton-Gillingham and other research-proven methods; I founded, and directed a non-profit literacy council for ten years, and it continues to thrive). Also, I specialize in teaching English language learners (ELL/ESL), anyone who struggles with writing (academic, business, and creative), Advanced Placement high school students, home-schooled students at any level, elementary and middle school students who have trouble with schoolwork, college students struggling with English classes/research papers, any-aged student with test anxiety and/or in need of a boost in standardized test scores, and GED, SAT and ACT preparation.
Although I have a B.A. in English and M. S. in Teaching English/Curriculum &Instruction, my experience is most important. It has produced in me an ability to individualize instruction, think creatively, organize strategy, and build rapport with students so that they can comprehend and apply any aspect of English language and literature.
