After thirty years as a high school English/Language Arts teacher, I retired. During my thirty year teaching career, I taught a variety of classes that included instructing students in oral and written communication, reading, and critical thinking. I earned a Bachelors Degree in English and Secondary Education and a Masters Degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in the Humanities. I earned four national honors including: a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship, a Council for Basic Education Fellowship, and two National Board Certifications in 2003 and 2013. Also, I have over one year of teaching English online to Chinese children. However, aside from numerous years of teaching, degrees, and awards, my greatest honor has been watching my students grow academically and become productive citizens. They have made a tremendous impact in my life through their dedication and love of learning. I look forward to sharing a love of learning with my students in my role as a tutor.
