I have extensive English teaching experience. I have taught English Language Learners (ELL) in a variety of academic and corporate venues (e.g., Elementary/Secondary schools, colleges, corporations, culture centers, private schools, etc.) In addition, I have also worked in non-academic fields in my youth (i.e., military, security, hotel; front desk and night audit, restaurant, and factory work).
My credentials include an undergraduate and a graduate degree; a Bachelor of Science in Education/a Master of Education (Secondary) with a focus in TESOL from the University of Missouri St. Louis.
I enjoy helping students acquire English that will enhance their lives academically, while fulfilling their individual and linguistic needs. I believe in a student centered and cooperative learning approach, which emphasizes comprehensible input, authentic learning, the four language skills, and phonemic awareness.
I also enjoy working with people; I get along well with others and adhere to professional standards and protocols while maintaining a pleasantly professional and friendly atmosphere, which I believe is needed when accomplishing common goals.
