I received my undergraduate degree from a small liberal arts college called St Olaf College and majored in Biology, Sociology, and Anthropology. I then continued with my education as a research assistant and a post-baccalaureate research fellow at Mayo Clinic. Conducted research from an analytical chemistry laboratory to a human physiology based lab. Then I pursued my PhD in Biomedical Sciences at Mayo Clinic where I studied viral hepatitis infections and liver cancer. Throughout my time I learned the importance of translational science and team-based approaches to the biomedical field. In addition, I am an adjunct professor at a local college and love to teach students! Especially I provide guidance and mentorship in order for students to connect what they are learning to their goals.
