There is nothing more rewarding than to use my education and experience to help others grasp concepts in the fields of policing and criminal justice. In my 16 years of policing, I have trained and mentored fellow officers that have gone on to have successful careers. I will use the same techniques to help my students in their studies. In order to have a fair and functional criminal justice system, we need to properly educate people that want to work in the system. This means we need the right people teaching and tutoring students in criminal justice. With my education and years of experience as a police officer, I know I am the right person to tutor you.
I have been a Police Officer for 16 years. I have worked as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Crime Scene Technician, and Detective Working in these roles has given me experience in different areas of policing and the criminal justice system.
I have had the pleasure of training fellow officers in investigative techniques, crime scene processing techniques, and evidence collection. Annually, I lead training in these areas for my police department.
I also enjoy presenting to citizens on different aspects of policing. Each year, my agency holds a Citizens Academy and Teachers Academy. The goal of these academies is to give the average person a glimpse of what our officers do daily. I contribute by presenting on crime scene processing and investigative techniques. I get to show civilians that our job is more complex than what they see on TV.
In my role as a detective, I have investigated homicides, crimes against children, and violent assaults. Most of my career in investigations have focused on white-collar crimes. Including, sweetheart scams, embezzlement, credit card/check frauds, identity thefts, account takeovers and, scams originating overseas.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Thomas Edison State College and a master’s degree in Security Technologies from the University of Minnesota.
As you can see, I have a wealth of experience in policing and criminal justice. Not only did I study criminal justice in college, but I have worked within the system for 16 years. I have a passion for teaching and helping others. I'm looking forward to tutoring students and being a part of their success in the field of Criminal Justice.
