Hello,
My name is Kim and I have been in the field of education for over 20 years. I started off as a 3rd grade paraprofessional in Phoenix, Arizona. I loved teaching so much that after graduating with my Bachelors degree I moved back home to Michigan and become a substitute. After subbing for 6 years I decided to get my Master's in Special Education. Since 2009 I have worked in several districts from the inner city of Detroit to the rural country of South Eastern Michigan. Working in in public, charter and private schools I have had the opportunity to work with students who have a range of learning styles. I am currently working online with students in Bejing, China teaching English Language skills, and as a reading coach for Reading Success Plus. I also work as a private in home tutor.
I am certified in TEFL, have been trained in Orton-Gillingham Phonics First Program, the Lindamood-Bell (LIPS) program as well as the Barton program. I believe all students are unique, creative and have the ability to learn.
