Having completed the Elementary Latin program at The University of Michigan, I am very well versed in and comfortable with Latin for Reading and its accompanying teaching style. I have a Bachelor's degree in Classical Civilizations and an Master's degree in Educational Studies with a focus in Latin, both from the University of Michigan.
I have 6 years of experience teaching Latin at the secondary level. I have designed curricula for and taught all levels of high school Latin, up to and including AP. I have experience teaching out of a both reading-based and grammar-based styles, including (but not limited to) Ecce Romani and Latin for Americans. I am comfortable teaching students at the middle school, high school, and university levels.
My goal is to make Latin fun and interesting, to build on students' strengths and help them overcome areas where they struggle. I love helping students find ways in which Latin is still relevant (because they are plentiful!) and make connections to what they are learning in other classes.
