With 16 years working in a small, rural school in northern Maine, I've seen firsthand the challenges and frustrations that students face every day. Currently, I work as a one-on-one aide for a student with special needs. We've been working on his writing skills, and his most recent accomplishment was a 657 word story about a Confederate blockade runner outside Charleston Harbor during the American Civil War.
Our school is small, so I've worked in every subject, from 3rd grade math to senior English. After 16 years, I'm what you might call a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to helping students meet their educational goals. If you need a hand figuring out that algebra problem, or getting a second pair of eyes on that history paper, I can help.
