Hello! I graduated college with a bachelor's in biology and a chemistry minor in 2021 and completed my master's degree in computer science at the end of 2022. Despite my scientific degree trajectories, I studied Latin for 5 years through high school and college and was awarded a medal in the National Classical Etymology Exam. Through eagerly translating the works of Virgil, Homer, Ovid, and many more ancient authors, it became clear that in order to conquer Latin's extensive grammar, one must conquer his/her own native language's grammar first.
I really struggled with Latin at first, until I got an excellent tutor who completely transformed this language that I had marked as tedious and boring into a fun and interesting narrative to explore. My fascination with Latin evolved into a passion for language learning, where I surprisingly applied my Latin grammar knowledge to learning conversational Chinese, as I knew from Latin how English grammatical structures could manifest into all different types of structures.
My goal is to tutor students at their own pace with catchy mnemonics, clever strategies I've tried and tested myself, and lots and lots of questions.
Feel free to contact me with any questions and/or to schedule a lesson!
