I am interested in tutoring in any subject, from the basic sciences to literature. I have an extensive background in biology and physiology, as I recently completed basic science and physiology courses during the first year at Harvard Medical School. With a background in psychology, I can also help with the social sciences. An avid writer, I enjoy working with students on composition and literature.
I also have experience with working with all age groups. During high school and college, I worked at the Acton Discovery Museums as a student teacher for children ages 4-15. I solidified these experiences with children through serving as a child care provider throughout college for children ages 2-12. During this time period, I also worked at the Wellesley College Child Study Center, a school for Pre-K children. As Harvard Medical School uses the flipped classroom style, in which students work as teams to learn and peer teach material, I am well practiced in peer tutoring. Though not explicitly academic, I was able to hone these communication abilities through my employment as a manager at a dessert cafe, where I trained incoming high school and college aged employees.
Mentoring is also important to me. I am passionate about helping students achieve their academic and career goals. To help with this process, I can aid students with their applications, including interview skills for college, graduate school or jobs, as well as crafting compelling personal statements. With my background of an acceptance to Wellesley College, as well as to many top dental schools, including Harvard, Columbia and Tufts, I am confident that I will be able to help you succeed as well.
