I have 5 years of experience teaching English to students from diverse backgrounds, including young children, high school students, and adults. I believe that instruction should be structured and engaging, but also thoughtfully adjusted to best fit the needs of my individual students. As a high school classroom teacher in Indiana, I developed a great deal of patience, which is my greatest strength. After becoming TEFL certified, I spent the past year teaching English to non-native speakers in Spain. I provided tutoring sessions focused on English conversation, reading comprehension, and written expression, as well as preparation for job interviews, cover-letter and resume writing, and testing strategies. I have found that tutoring one-on-one is incredibly rewarding. My mission is to get to know my students in order to cater to their specific learning style.
