I studied a variety of humanities and arts in college. My degree is technically in film, although I took as many classes in English Literature and Creative Writing, and writing was my concentration within my Film major. I love reading and have studied a variety of literature, including the Epic Classics, British, American, and Contemporary lit. I received an 800 on the SAT writing section and a 5 on the AP Am Lit test back in the day. I worked with one of my professors as a teacher's assistant during college and helped students comprehend their readings and write strong responses and essays. I'm good at breaking down the key ways to analyze a work and/or make a clear written argument, but I also think reading and writing can (and should) be fun. If your Shakespeare essay has you beating your head against a wall, a great way to really understand the text is to throw the stuffy literature criticism pamphlet in the trash and try bellowing "Once more into the breach!" while brandishing a foam sword. That is, after all, how the original audience came to appreciate such works. I have a very flexible schedule so message me, and I'm happy to meet with you when it works best for you!
