I have been a tutor for over two years, specializing in standardized test preparation. I started with Summit Educational Group in Boston and have since pursued this occupation independently. Tailoring a program of study to fit the needs of individual students, whether in a private setting or classroom environment, has proven to be uniquely stimulating and incredibly rewarding. It is a supreme privilege to work with students at this pivotal moment in their educations. I work with students as both teacher and coach, helping my clients first to navigate the landscape of standardized tests, to clarify the unique challenge of a chosen test (SAT or ACT) and how best a student can manage his or her time question-by-question, to shore up any gaps in his or her skill-set, and last but not least motivating my students to practice, practice, practice. I have developed my own tools for analyzing practice test results, because I find that students are able to more clearly process a visual diagnostic and learn from it. My students have consistently done very well, and I have in many cases been asked to stay on and help students with advanced high school subjects (pre-Calculus, Latin, college applications).
