Hi! I am a graduate student studying to complete my Master's Degree in Elementary Education. My bachelor's degree is in Psychology with some background in health sciences. I enjoy working with students of all ages, but I especially enjoy working with students in elementary or middle school.
As a student, I relied on a variety of ways to learn from visual aids to hands-on to rehearsal with flashcards. I plan to use these strategies along with the methods I am learning in school to work with students in finding what best works for them. My favourite subjects as a young students were language arts, math, art, and music. I still very much enjoy learning and teaching those subjects!
I highly believe in instilling confidence in students. The lack of confidence can not only affect their learning, but their entire school experience. One way I help students build confidence is to give them opportunities to teach me what they have learned. The ability to teach another and apply the content to new problems reflect understanding and meaningful learning.
School can be fun and easy! We just have to find a way that best fits each student's needs, interests, and talents.
