It is my passion to teach and help students grow to be successful in school and in life. I believe all students have this ability when given the right tools and the proper environment. I love to engage students in fun and positive lessons. I have found this is how students learn best. My special education background has given me many tools on how to approach instruction to meet the needs of each student. This has helped my students pass standardized state exams, pass and excel in classes, and move up in grade levels in reading and math.
I graduated from State University of New York at Geneseo with a bachelor's in history and a certification in social studies grades 7-12. I then received my master's in special education at Nazareth College with a certification to teach special education grades 7-12. I have taught for five years in high school and middle school grades ranging from 6th grade to 12th grade. I have taught English, math, and social studies in a general education setting and in a special education setting. I have tutored mostly middle school and high school students in math, English, social studies, organization skills, reading and literacy skills. I have instructed students with many different reading and math skills ranging from 1st grade to 12th grade. I welcome all students regardless of skill level. Together we will work towards each students goals in school and beyond.
